About the position
We are looking for a restaurant manager who loves working with people, has very high standards for food and service, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves both operational work on the floor and full responsibility for the daily operations of a Japanese restaurant. You will lead a dedicated team, be present on the floor during service, and not hesitate to jump in where needed – from the door to the dishwashing station when the situation requires it. We are looking for an unpretentious leader who combines clear leadership with practical involvement.
Responsibilities
Daily operations and leadership: Planning, staffing, and scheduling of personnel, onboarding and ongoing coaching of the team
Quality control: Ensuring high quality of food, drinks, and service, as well as actively working with hygiene, safety, and self-control routines
Finance and development: Budget and cost responsibility, monitoring key performance indicators, and developing sales, menus, and guest experience together with the head chef
Guest experience: Working on the floor during service, especially during peak times, and creating a personal and warm environment for guests and staff
Who you are
An experienced leader in the restaurant industry, preferably from an Asian/Japanese restaurant or similar high-paced concept. A present and unpretentious team player who builds strong teams, communicates clearly, and enjoys developing people. You have a strong work ethic, thrive when there is a lot to do, and remain calm even during intense evenings. You understand the importance of consistency and quality – every detail matters for the guest's experience.
Qualifications
Several years of experience in the restaurant industry, with at least one year in a leadership role as a restaurant manager, head waiter, or operations manager. Good understanding of service economics: scheduling, inventory, purchasing, waste control, and working towards budgets and set goals. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
Meritorious: Interest in and knowledge of Japanese & Asian food and beverage culture.
